I've spoken quite critically of Epic games, but at some point I'll need to do a thread or article addressing how much of the Epic hate is just reactionary and coming from a place of spite that is disproportionately targeted towards smaller indie developers.
Still not a fan of Epic's business practices, and don't want to support them, so don't get me wrong. But it's pretty clear that reactionary elements are using Epic controversies purely as cover to harass, abuse, and threaten.
I said something negative about games, so now a recommendation.
Try out the Backbone prologue, it's free to play, and a seriously gorgeous adventure where you play a racoon detective. Can't wait for the full game!
