April 17, 2020 ALLYN-GRAPEVIEW, Wash. — A rare white transient orca was filmed swimming in Case Inlet near his home in Allyn, Washington.
My family has had vacation homes near here for more than 100 years.
How my family bought land in this area involves business "pivots." My Great Grandfather Judge Griffin bought many acres to raise sheep during World War I, but they soon died. He was forced to pivot to cattle ranching and then being an oyster farmer and real estate developer!
Judge Griffin collected stories from local native Americans to help prove treaty rights. The bedtime stories I was told as a child I rewrote in the form of two books entitled Ah Mo and More Ah Mo. I rewrote them to be less scary than the originals though. https://www.amazon.com/Ah-Mo-Indian-Legends-Northwest/dp/0888392443 …
