Significant and not surprising. Makes antitrust action harder, increases monetization possibilities but also big questions: “Mr. Zuckerberg has also ordered all of the apps to incorporate end-to-end encryption.” How? Tied to “real name” or not? Default or an option? Big impacts.

The why: Seems they will increasingly integrate it so that they can’t easily be broken up—integrated codebase, functionality, user experience and networks. They won’t really be separate products, just more like options in one application. Right now, all those are separate.

The end-to-end statement It’s hard to interpret without knowing the exact application. It could go many different ways all of them pretty significant in impacts.
