(1/3) This morning I posted a thread called “It’s All About Race”

@caltamura3 shared a study by 2 U. of Kansas profs, who analyzed data from the 2016 American National Election Study and concluded that yes indeed, racial resentment propelled Trump to the White House.

(2/3) Here's the article:  https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0896920517740615

If you don't have access, here's a good summary:  http://criticalsociology.org/the-anger-games-who-voted-for-donald-trump-in-the-2016-election-and-why/

Specifically they conclude that “Authorities who do not take sides against resented minorities and women are regarded as illegitimate usurpers who . . .

(3/3) . . . who favor the 'undeserving' over the 'deserving.'”

This backs up the other scholars I cited on my thread. The fact/ authority looks compelling to me.

(I'll add this study to the blog post)
