Amidst a sea of black and blue Beto placards and flags waved by his supporters at his El Paso rally, a discordant shock of red juts out just over the bottom of the frame.

That’s a MAGA hat.

It doesn’t appear to be on a person but on a sign.

There seems to be some sort of shoot it’s slung on; in any event, that wasn’t a political observation so much as an eye-catching aesthetic detail.

My colleague confirmed: It’s a Trump piñata!

This Trump piñata made a cameo in the crowd at the Beto rally today.
