Netflix: Adds 1.1MM more subscribers in Q1 than forecast
Netflix: Forecasts 1MM fewer in Q2 than historical
Reminder, they also increased prices 18% in Q1...
I love flipping Netflix pre and post the quarter. Because the market is absurd as to its mission.
The company's viability and trajectory are entirely unrelated to +/- a million or two in a quarter. It's about where they end up, how likely they are to, and when.
In Q1, Netflix subscriber growth alone added 20% of HBO's global revenue . In Q2, it estimates close to 10%, versus Wall Street's expected 11%.
This is before taking into account the effects of an 18% price increase against 140MM subscriptions
