When the first female president is elected, it will be without a single vote from those who won’t vote for women.
May as well get used to not having their votes now. We shouldn’t want them.
The first black president was elected without garnering a single vote from those who would never vote for a black person.
We didn’t need them then and we don’t need them now. They’re welcome to join our cause whenever they like, but we should never again seek to join theirs
The first gay candidates to gain various elected offices will likewise be elected without a single vote from those who would never vote for a gay person.
We're going to have to do without them. We should want to do without them.
We should start immediately.
Should we win them over by convincing them?
Yes. Through our example.
By proving them wrong. Not by flattering them that they're right.
We'll make them want to catch up by leaving them behind, not by staying with them.
