"Compared to other systems, K8s is still harmless." this tweet kicks off a wry, accurate, and dryly funny assessment of the 'progress' we've made over the past 10 years of computing in infra. ✨read it✨

confession: 3.5 years ago when i sat down to build out honeyinfra, i wrestled with whether to learn and use docker+kubernetes or boring old ASGs.

(i chose boring, and never regretted it.)

if i were cynical, i might say k8s was make-work for infra teams (at companies who might not /need/ infra teams if they didn't run k8s).

yes -- some people really need do k8s. and if you need it you'll know. if you're asking the question, you don't.
