IF election officials had to affirmatively PROVE by a preponderance of the evidence with legally admissible evidence that electronic outcomes are NOT electronically manipulated, they would have to implement HAND marked paper ballots counted either...1/

...(a) manually in public or (b) on scanners with robust post election manual audits and a transparent (perhaps videotaped) chain of custody. 2/

Maybe the easiest thing to do, then, would be to pass a law requiring that all counties publish legally admissible evidence affirmatively proving that paper trails, paper ballots, and vote tallies have not been hacked. 3/

Members of the public would have statutory standing to sue counties for failing to satisfy this burden, and counties would owe legal costs if they lose in court. 4/

Perhaps THEN counties would reconsider their crappy new voting system purchases. Thoughts? #ProtectOurVotes 5/ 

Basically, I’m thinking of a burden-shifting election security law. Put the burden on those with control of the evidence, which is where it should be. Maybe include penalties as well. 6/

Perhaps even personal liability for those who in bad faith fail to publish sufficient evidence to prove that hacking did not occur. 7/

I guess one problem is that those currently in power would be happy to have election outcomes invalidated if the outcomes would otherwise throw them out of office. Sigh. 8/
