Oh, Denver, your downtown is so close to great. Consistently tall buildings, mixed use zoning, tons of great shops & restaurants, great transit ... but the streets are sooo wide & the blocks soooo long, walking around it feel like being lost in a sea of concrete. It is not cozy.

I will say, I walked up and down the 16th street mall today -- a thoroughfare that was converted to be primarily pedestrian, with only buses & taxies driving on it (rides are free on the bus!) -- and it was really nice. A few more of those & Denver is in business.
