The one bittersweet thing: our beautiful home, built from fir logs that @QuinceMountain skidded from the forest with draft horses, flooded badly in March. So we’re coming back to holes in the walls, many of our belongings destroyed, and our bedroom unusable.
We’ve known about this (well, Q did — he didn’t tell me until after Iditarod). Our good mushing friends and the wonderful @danielleiat made sure that short-term remediations (to prevent further damage) were carried out. We are deeply grateful for their help.
So things are stable, thanks to some incredibly kind friends, but we’ll be spending the next few weeks sorting/cleaning stuff and getting the house back to a more livable state. The important thing, as always, is that all humans and dogs (and barn cats) are safe and healthy.
