1/It's obvious that ridesharing & delivery drivers who pick their hours, drive their own cars & work for multiple services, are independent contractors.
That being said if folks want to build services that use full-time employees that

2/Having full-time employees would create the benefit of being able to force them to work a set number of hours & at certain times. Wages would be much lower, with the difference going to benefits.
Services with full-time folks would have distinct advantages:
a. they could force folks only to work 11am-3pm & 5pm-10pm when customer demand is strong--food delivery services can't do that
b. they could provide standard cars w/ corporate colors & logos--ride-sharing services can't do that
c. Uniforms, training, standards etc.
d. It's possible that services with full-time employees would attract the top talent & have much BETTER service, albeit at a higher price. They would likely scoop up the top part of the market!
We should let the drivers, founders & ultimately the market decide the model IMO.
