We’ve been building bike lanes wrong all this time - bike lanes shouldn’t be built closest to the curb where vehicles pick up/drop off passengers/cargo and park, but in the middle of the road and should be as wide as vehicle lanes so two or more cyclists 🚵♀️ can ride abreast.
2. With bike lanes moved into the middle of the road traffic will flow more smoothly. Pedestrian crossings at street ends should be widened to accommodate bike crossings too - bike riders should use these crossings to cross over or to make turns.
