Australia hand counts federal elections. But hand counted polling place totals are aggregated & continually updated by a computer, which transmits them to the election website. It thus seems that hacking, if any, would have had to occur via the aggregation computer or website. 1/

3/ IMHO, it is NOT safe to assume that campaigns or parties in Australia manually confirm the computerized aggregation of the MANY polling place totals, as no one seems to do this (at least not routinely) in the US re: the central tabulators (which aggregate the precinct totals).
