Ed Cox has a place in PROOF OF CONSPIRACY. A big one. I'm not surprised Trump has given him a reward. Can't wait for folks to read about Ed—and Carter Page and Dimitri Simes's CNI—in August. The pieces are coming together faster than Trump can unglue them.

/ Here's how much we have Ed Cox and Donald Trump pegged: the PROOF OF CONSPIRACY ms. already—before today's news—discussed Trumpworld's persistent attempts to falsely suggest Cox has no positive relationship with Trump. Today's announcement confirms that distancing was a sham.

/ Ed Cox *is* a Trump-Russia witness—and a key one. And as the walls close in on Trump, he brings Cox into his web. It's a pattern we've seen consistently with Trump, that when someone's testimony is a danger to him he tampers with them. Consider Cox's new job witness tampering.

/ Moreover, Trump has *specifically used the Victory Fund* to shelter potential witnesses against him in the past. A key witness against him, Elliott Broidy, was given the top spot there. Trump's patterns are 100% unmistakable: it's just that it's hard to find reporting on them.

/ Note that reporting on this confirms this is a "soft landing" for Cox—a reward. That's after Trump communications aide Caputo tried to put out the story (in 2016) that Cox tried to keep Trump from running for POTUS, when the evidence suggests he facilitated it. And it matters.

/ The answer to two of the biggest questions in the whole Trump-Russia investigation—how and why was Page given a starring role on the national security team, and how and why did Kushner end up using Kremlin ally Dimitri Simes as his Russia guru—are answered by one man: Ed Cox.
