This is the 3 million square foot Amazon airhub located near the Ohio-Kentucky border, where the Cincinnati airport is located, in Covington (CVG), Kentucky. Eventually, 100 Amazon-branded planes will operate from CVG, distributing packages 📦 to customers across the country.

This is from 2003 (post dot-com bust) and worth a watch…Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on how the Internet boom/bust then was more like the early days of electricity and not like the Gold Rush. His grasp of history + sense of humor has served him well. 

In the TED talk, Bezos reviews a couple of early headlines and expert opinions about the internet and about Amazon’s ability to survive - proving experts wrong must have been both motivating and so satisfying.
