1.I'm old enough to remember that when @ChadHGriffin took this on, the ACLU and LAMBDA Legal asked him, @BoutrousTed, and others to wait 6-10 years before moving forward. Imagine if they had waited? We wouldn't have marriage equality today.
2. A big thank you to @ChadHGriffin, @BoutrousTed, @kristina_schake, Bruce Cohen, and AFTER staff and board of directors, and especially the plaintiffs for ignoring the establishment and moving forward with this lawsuit which brought us marriage equality.
3. And I've always suspected that most people don't know that @robreiner and @michelereiner played a critical role in this lawsuit as co-founders of AFER.
AFER funded the lawsuit that struck down Prop 8 and helped to lead to marriage equality as the law of the land.
