My work life has been so much better since I convinced the university facilities managers to set my office’s thermostat several degrees higher than the rest of the department

There's no obvious easy solution to the fact that different people are comfortable at different temperatures. But "standard" work attire expectations/requirements make the problem worse, and the burden of severe discomfort tends to fall much more on women here, statistically.

Really the only good solution is to hurry up with this singularity thing so we can all be happily uploaded to the cloud and escape these buggy and unwieldy flesh-based interfaces.
