America hasn't yet fully processed the Mueller Report, how off the rails Trump's lies have gotten, or how deceitful Barr is. Barr can't honestly say—for example—he and Rosenstein *chose* not to charge Trump with obstruction without *also* saying a sitting POTUS *can* be indicted.
1/ AG Barr and the DOJ can't *pretend* to make a "choice" if one of the two options is not an option. What attorneys all over should be saying is that the *only* things DOJ can do as to a president are (1) gather evidence, (2) refer evidence to Congress. It *cannot* "clear" him.
2/ The *only* other alternative would be for Barr to terminate the OLC opinion on DOJ not being able to indict a president, and thereafter permit Mueller to issue an indictment for obstruction and for SDNY to issue an indictment for campaign finance crimes. Those are the options.
