Breaking: Maine's Dem-majority state House voted 79-68 to reject a bill to add Maine's 4 Electoral College votes to the National Popular Vote Compact despite it passing the state Senate. The compact has 196 of the 270 electoral votes needed to take effect 

Maine is 1 of 2 Dem-run states along with Nevada to reject bills to join the National Popular Vote Compact this year, but 4 others joined in 2019 (CO, DE, NM, & OR). Here's how the compact could attain the 270 electoral votes needed to take effect by 2024 

Maine state Senate Dems have once again passed a bill (#LD816) to join the National Popular Vote Compact, setting up one last chance for the Dem-majority state House to reverse its opposition & pass the bill before the session ends today #NPV
