1. Netflix has been v clear here, as they have with literally all plans
2. We'll know long in advance if this is planned, if just via hiring
3. This is a HUGE technical change
4. Netflix is OBSESSED with reducing ALL view friction, possible crash points
5. NFLX is basically free

This is such senseless thinking. 2020? Really? Guess they should start building a sales team and... Tech... Soon?

It might be a good idea, sure, but there's no real evidence price is their barrier in mature markets, or ad supported ARPU in developing would be meaningful

There's not even strategic upside to being quiet were this the plan. Advertisers lock budgets early! They would be SO excited to buy inventory here. It would be yanked from Netflix's competitors, too!
