Temperatures in coming days could match or break the all-time high temperature record set at Anchorage International Airport in June 1969, National Weather Service says.

The current record in Alaska’s largest city could be surpassed over several days, says Brian Brettschneider, a climate researcher at the University of Alaska Fairbanks: “That’s the definition of unusual.”
