Widespread power outages reported in parts of Midtown and Uptown Manhattan.
Police are directing passengers to leave the subway station at Columbus Circle due to the Manhattan power outage, according to @marydal23.
MTA: “We are working with Con Edison to determine the root cause of the ongoing power failure, which is affecting Midtown and the Upper West Side. Several stations are currently without power and are being bypassed by all trains. Please stay tuned here for updates.”
ConEdison power company: “We are responding to extensive outages on the Westside of Manhattan. We will share more information as it comes in. Thank you.”
MTA: “Because of the ongoing power outages, there is limited subway service into Manhattan from Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. Please check http://MTA.info or the MYmta app for the status of your line.”
MTA: “While Con Edison works to restore power in Manhattan, we encourage everyone to avoid below-ground subway stations.”
FDNY on Midtown Manhattan power outage: “FDNY is addressing the spike in call volume by relocating resources to Manhattan. The loss of power is from 5th Ave. to Hudson River, and west 40s to 72nd St. Please be patient, call 911 only if you have a true emergency.”
