Day 2 of protests in Moscow demanding the inclusion of opposition candidates on the ballots for the city’s parliament elections in September. At least one candidate is currently in court after several were arrested yesterday

subdued mood as protesters struggle to hear candidates encircled by a scrum of journalists. some of the better known candidates like @IlyaYashin and @SobolLubov haven’t yet arrived

and @SobolLubov has arrived, says she’s tired from her hunger strike. begins listing her allegations of the commission forcing her off the ballot. only journalists can hear her

“Gorbunov isn’t here, but I am,” reads a sign in reference to the head of the Moscow election commission who say yesterday he couldn’t meet with protesters because he was at his summer cottage
