You know, while I'm certainly one to make light of abusive monetisation practices in the AAA games industry a whole lot, I don't want to give off the impression that I just blanket hate AAA games, when the reality is that there's some truly phenomenal titles sans said practices.
For anyone wondering, aside from Sekiro, the Yakuza games, Dark Souls, Nioh, NieR: Automata, Watchdogs 2, Dishonored, Wolfenstein, Mafia 3, they've all been pretty god damn fantastic. It show the industry can, y'know, just make a good game now and then. When it wants.
Oh yeah, and the new Hitman was aces!
I've also got a few things like Prey, Dishonored 2, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided I've yet to play, that I'm sure I'll be delighted with. Yes, I'm playing catch-up with games I missed from previous years.
