Since 1992, no candidate has won the Democratic nomination for president without winning a majority of the black vote. (2/4)

In 2016, African Americans made up 24 percent of Democratic primary voters, the most ever.

That share is expected to climb in 2020, especially with the presence of 2 major black candidates, and could be decisive in determining the party’s nominee. (3/4)
