President Trump says El Paso attacker posted racist screed before the attack, and calls for the nation to condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy with one voice.

President Trump says that the internet and social media are helping fuel mass shootings, and he has directed the US Justice Dept. to work with local agencies and social media companies to detect attackers before they strike. "We can and will stop this evil contagion."

President Trump: "Mental illness and hatred pulls the trigger — not the gun."

Hillary Clinton: "People suffer from mental illness in every other country on earth; people play video games in virtually every other country on earth. The difference is the guns."
