Beto just run for Senate. Why is this even controversial?

Wow. The argument for this is that the Senate is crucially important & Beto is well-positioned to win there, whereas he has virtually no shot at the presidential nomination. The argument against is "someone else we don't also said this." Or "fck you." Convincing!

If someone has convincing evidence that the current Dem TX senate candidates have chances of winning that are *as good as Beto's* ... well, that would be an argument. The rest of the crap in this thread is just embarrassing.

For the record, before I leave this tire-fire behind: the notion that nominating a presidential candidate from X state makes winning X state in a presidential election more likely ... is not supported by data. And when the argument is applied to a VP, it becomes ludicrous.
