TRUMP: “The concept … of cutting of aid to Israel … I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation. … And I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

In 1992, President George H.W. Bush threatened loan guarantees to Israel if the money was used to expand settlements.

Trump to Republican Jewish Coalition in 2015:

“You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money"

Trump to RJC in April:

“I stood with your prime minister at the White House”

Trump today:

Jewish people who vote Democratic are “disloyal"

"Critics on both sides of the aisle immediately pointed out that Trump’s use of the word ‘disloyalty' echoed anti-Semitic tropes accusing Jews of dual allegiance.”

“Trump did not go into specifics about what he considered to be Jews’ disloyalty, but his language was reminiscent of the anti-Semitic smear that Jews have a ‘dual loyalty’ and are more devoted to Israel than they are to their own countries.”

Trump doubles down, says Jewish Americans who vote for Democratic candidates are “very disloyal to Israel and to the Jewish people.”

SCHUMER statement:

“When President Trump uses a trope that has been used against the Jewish people for centuries with dire consequences, he is encouraging—wittingly or unwittingly—anti-Semites throughout the country and the world. Enough.”

Trump on Jewish Americans:

2005: “I’m in a very Jewish business”

2011: “Even these spoiled, rich Jewish guys, they can’t believe how good this [golf course] is”

2015: “You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money”

"During his campaign, [Trump] retweeted and defended an image from a white supremacist website, showing Hillary Clinton’s face over a pile of money and a six-pointed Jewish star.”
