All right, time to find out if the surprise new Tool album is any good. I'm a huge fan of their first four studio albums, but it's been over a decade since their last one came out & 26 years(!) since the first one did

Tool's "The Patient" & "Lateralus" in particular are masterpieces of progressive rock  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtHAKEZzrl8

I've long been a fan of unusual time signatures. Totally different genre, but it's one of the reasons I utterly love Avishai Cohen's "Gently Disturbed" album. Just like with the Esbjörn Svensson Trio, it's amazing what only jazz piano, bass, & drums can do  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHIOXqdnalc&list=PLoxhDWWBCgecfKLVfjH9wX5D2dXlMYOS-

Update: It is good. It's like longer versions of 10,000 Days tracks "Wings for Marie & "10,000 Days." No song stands out in particular like Lateralus, but repeated listens are surely warranted. I could do without some of the shorter interlude tracks, just like with past albums
