It’s the banality of compulsory growth. Every executive incentivized to capture more, extract harder, squeeze further for four quarters a year, forty quarters a decade. This cancerous expansion is rarely if ever halted from within. Only antitrust laws, monopoly busting constrain.

Absolute market share corrupts absolutely.
