There are testimonials and then there are TESTIMONIALS. Rarely have I've been so proud of the work we do at @basecamp than after reading about what life for our customers were like before and after. https://basecamp.com/before-and-after …
Making software is inherently alienating. I rarely get to see our actual customers, see how our work has made their work life better, or even know who they are! So when we simply ask people: hey, what's it like? It's overwhelming to hear back like this. Truly ❤️
It's so easy as software makers to get drawn to metrics too. Oh, I don't need to hear from customers. I have engagement stats! I have net promoter scores! All numbers, no faces. But what seems like objective and scientific is really just flat and shallow. Software is people.
Finally, to hear from customers who continue to choose software from independent, VC-free, surveillance-capital rejecting makers like us. The gravitational pull of Big Tech and Silicon Valley can seem inescapable, but it's not. Escape is possible. We're proud to deliver one way.
