Hi Deb, I'm sorry you're tired. I'm tired of people who insinuate that when Black children are abused by police officers it has something to do with the way they are being raised.
Like out of the air let's ask - "Might the school have had multiple interactions with the grandmother?"
And let's ignore what we know as facts about the cop having been arrested for beating his own kid and arresting another 6-year-old child the same day.
The fact is if the six-year-old child's grandmother had not brought media attention to this case, she probably would still be facing charges and the country would not be aware of the myriad of issues brought up by this situation.
Her grandmother fought for her. Thank God she had a grandmother who was in a position to do that. Her grandmother probably saved the other six-year-old child too. Who knows.
This happens every single day and people don't know about it and it is only when children are fortunate enough to have a guardian who is in a position to navigate the system well enough to do what the six-year-old's grandmother did that we have the outcome we have here.
I am so glad this six-year-old girl is being raised by a wonderful passionate grandmother who clearly loves her so much. And I am sorry Deb seeing this makes you weary. But you have a lovely day. Peace out.
