Stand your ground laws exist so white people can kill black people, and the judge knows it.
Just want be clear what I meant here.
I meant that stand your ground law quite obviously exist specifically to allow white citizens to legally kill black citizens, and anyone who drafts, votes for, signs, makes use of, defends, or utilizes such a law in court knows it.
I’ve had it explain to me that the judge may be strategically allowing the Castle doctrine to be considered so that it can’t be the basis of some future appeal.
To me this underscores the idea that to properly deal with the law you have to understand it has racist intent.
Genuinely relieved and surprised by the sentence.
