Breaking: Santa Clarita brush fire burns structures, threatens neighborhoods  https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2019-10-24/brush-fire-threatens-homes-near-santa-clarita

This is the fifth fire we're monitoring so far today. Early this morning the entire town of Geyserville in Northern California was forced to evacuate from a monster fire pushed by wind gusts topping 70 mph.

In Southern California, firefighters were working to gain the upper hand on a windblown brush fire that erupted near the San Bernardino National Forest. It quickly charred 75 acres, forced road closures and sent residents fleeing from neighborhoods.

Los Angeles firefighters were also battling a small brush fire Thursday in Eagle Rock as of 2 p.m.

And a wind-driven brush fire that broke out in Marin County Wednesday and closed Highway 1 is still burning.

In the Santa Clarita area, firefighters are trying to stall the wind-driven #TickFire as it rapidly moves toward subdivisions in Agua Dulce.

Forecasters expect the powerful winds spreading the #TickFire to pick up through the evening and overnight.

The Tick fire is burning out of control near Santa Clarita, burning homes and forcing evacuation orders.

A 2-acre brush fire is burning near Mussel Shoals and the southbound 101 Freeway in Ventura County.

The fire has the potential for some growth and traffic has slowed in the area, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.  https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2019-10-24/fire-ventura-county-mussel-shoals-101-freeway

Fed by strong Santa Ana winds, the Tick fire jumped the 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita, prompting more evacuations as it quickly chewed through dry grass and brush.  https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2019-10-25/tick-fire-jumps-14-freeway-friday
