1/

I assume the impeachment inquiry will be narrowly focused with a simple message.

But it looks like the Articles of Impeachment will go beyond the Ukraine scandal.

For example, the Resolution from last week directs all committees to continue looking into . . .

2/ . . . possible grounds for impeachment. That widens the scope beyond Ukraine.

Also, two committees are working hard to get Trump’s Deutsch Bank Records.
 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-07-11/house-defends-subpoenas-for-trump-s-records-at-deutsche-bank

And there’s the tax records that the House should be getting soon.  https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/10/11/trump-accounting-firm-mazars-usa-must-turn-over-documents-court-says/2273146001/

3/ Plus, the House is still trying to get the Mueller Grand Jury material.

I don't think they'd go to all that trouble if they didn't think they'd use that material—nor would they open the impeachment resolution by flagging all those investigations.

4/ Plus there's all that obstruction and witness tampering, right there in plain sight ⤵️

I suspect (but I have no way to know) that things like witness tampering will be framed as an abuse of power instead of federal code violation.

5/ The way Trump targets and harasses private citizens who he doesn't like is an intolerable abuse of power.

@CheriJacobus, to take one example, has some hair-raising stories.

Pelosi likes the phrase "All Roads Lead to Putin" . . .

6/ . . . which of course, is the focus of the investigation into the financials: To what extent is Trump financially beholden to Putin?

So while I expect a simple framing, it does seem that the Articles will go beyond the Whistleblower's complaint.
