People judged @KamalaHarris for not being “warm” or “likable.” Stop tone policing and judge women on their merits. I see Harris and I see competence. The edge of the knife that women must walk is ridiculous, and it’s worse for WOC.
I remember seeing @KamalaHarris question Kavanaugh and I was so damn impressed. Confidence. Preparation. Skills from decades of work. Intelligence. I’m so tired of this being talking points and sound bites.
Why didn’t the press interview people @KamalaHarris connected with?? Her coverage was so biased.
Canned TV message vs. competence.
Name any other profession and tell me what you would prefer. Would you like your pilot, doctor, car mechanic to be have the illusion of being TV ready or competent?
I’m not a WOC so I can’t imagine the experiences @KamalaHarris has had, but I know what it took me to get where I am and what that makes some people think of me, so I can only imagine it was orders of magnitude harder for her. This is enraging.
Just remember the “bedside manner” women are judged by nationally was created by a patriarchal system. Why should we be judged by a system we are only just starting to be able to shape?
