The best performers I know have one thing in common: obsession.

Life is work.

Work is life.

What a remarkable paragraph.

Stories about world-class mathematicians always seem to carry this theme of obsession.

Starting at age two, Tiger Woods practiced for two hours per day.

He didn’t just compete against people.

He competed against history.

Two other examples:

1) Every talented drummer I’ve met is always tapping their fingers, as if they’re making a beat.

2) The best venture capitalists I know never stop looking for new ideas.

3) The best entrepreneurs I know are perpetually unsatisfied with the status quo.
