As it turns out, the Special Counsel regulations, while imagining a variety of scenarios, did not contemplate one in which the AG might be implicated in (or a witness to) in illegal bc activity AND be too corrupt himself not to recuse in light of that fact.

We focus on many lessons learned for the Presidency for the Trump administration, but an even MORE important lesson is that ANY AND EVERY future AG, Republican or Democrat, *must* be above reproach wrt impartiality and character before being confirmed. Punto.

On this front, though he and I disagree on a lot of things, I thought @JamesAGagliano had a great idea to give the AG a 10-year term, like we do the FBI Director  https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/04/opinions/barr-new-way-keep-attorneys-general-nonpartisan-gagliano/index.html
