Based on my experience about 5-10% of @Airbnb’s business is party related rentals—& 95% of their headaches are from parties!

their recent cracking down on party houses makes complete business sense: lose 5-10% of top line (max) while avoiding the costs associated with parties.

Long term, this will neuter the #1 complaint about @Airbnb: “stop disturbing neighbors!!”

Doesn’t solve the very real #2 issue of @airbnb removing housing supply & increasing rents in constrained housing markets. Only supply can solve that.

If Airbnb can facilitate more ADUs (in-law units) that could be a major unlock for everyone (except hotels)

Many folks can fit an ADU, some can do two! This is the future, everyone standalone home having a cottage in the yard for rent
