In only a few days time, the number has now grown to 900,000, mostly women and children, @UNOCHA believes. Let that sink in. 900,000. And that in the ninth year of the war.

OCHA: “The biggest humanitarian horror story of the 21st Century will only be avoided if Security Council members, and those with influence, overcome individual interests and put a collective stake in humanity first.”

Last week, we visualized how the biggest exodus of Syria's 9-year-old war looks like, using satellite imagery, drones footage and photos by Abu Muhammed and his family. It were 800,000 displaced then. It has risen to 900,000 now.

Another issue is that many IDPs may not have access to actual SIM cards. Qusai Shabib, the Syrian videographer that provided us with drone footage, says he was kicked off Twitter/Facebook for using a fake number. He shares his footage on TikTok now.
