Ukriane has a new prosecutor general. It’s Iryna Venediktova, a former Kharkiv law professor who was a top Zelensky campaign aide before being elected to parliament & then tapped to head the State Bureau of Investigation, Ukraine’s equivalent of the FBI. Many unhappy with this.
Her appointment has reformers and anticorruption activists screaming. And unlike Ruslan Riaboshapka, who was seen as staunchly independent and recently fired from the prosecutor job, Venediktova is 100% Zelensky’s person, just like he told Trump in their phone call.

And here’s an activist from that anticorruption group with much more in the way of concerns.
