Note: This thread is related to #Coronavirus #COVID19

Follow the World Health Organization's instructions to reduce your risk of infection:

1/ Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

2/ When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue - throw issue away immediately and wash hands.

3/ Avoid close contact with anyone that has fever and cough.

From the survey in the thread below, I have some results that are related to the recent working paper "Misinformation during a Pandemic" ( ) which I wanted to share. 1/6

Our survey took place in early April after the convergence in virus-related content on Hannity & Carlson the paper details. Our survey includes measures of whether respondents reported watching either show in Jan./Feb. 16% of respondents watch both, 3% each watch 1 but not other.

So we can estimate OLS models such as this one, which predicts a five-category question about how important it is to adopt social distancing (1-5, mean=4.47, SD=0.86) as a function of covariates including indicators for Hannity, Carlson viewership. 3/6

The Carlson viewers are actually a bit *less* likely to say social distancing is extremely important than the Hannity viewers. Below, we see that there's no real difference when it comes to levels of personal concern about coronavirus. 4/6

We also asked about whether to prioritize re-opening the economy (3) or preventing the virus from spreading (1; mean=1.65, SD=0.86). 5/6

So from this sample of Pennsylvania residents, surveyed 4/4-4/8/2020, there's no evidence that Hannity viewers were less concerned about the virus or less supportive of policies to stem its spread than Carlson viewers. 6/6
