What an incredible view of Washington, DC. Taken by @Maxar's WorldView-3 satellite, as it was nearly overhead Bermuda on May 2. (Yes, this is a satellite image.)

Here's another shot. Absolutely incredible image by @Maxar's WorldView-3.

What you're looking at are high off-nadir satellite images, which basically means the satellite is not directly overhead DC, but in fact further away (nearly Bermuda in this case, @Maxar says), thus changing the angle you're looking at the city.

This image of Baltimore, also taken by @Maxar's WorldView-3 satellite on May 2, really looks like SimCity, @Nrg8000.

What's also pretty cool is that @Maxar's WV-3 caught the US Navy Blue Angels and USAF Thunderbirds in flight, including this image of four large KC-10 refueler aircraft flying east of Washington, DC.

s analyst explains that the blue 'blur' you see behind the aircraft comes from blending their panchromatic image with their color image. There's a split second difference in time, so fast-moving objects 'show up with this spectral bloom'.
