Follow the World Health Organization's instructions to reduce your risk of infection. Avoid the three Cs: Crowded places, Close Contact Settings & Confined spaces. Airborne aerosols play an important role in transmitting COVID-19.

- Avoid crowded places and limit time in enclosed spaces

- Apply social distance

- Air rooms by opening windows & doors

- Keep hands and surfaces clean, cover coughs & sneezes

- Wear a mask when you are not at home or when physical distancing is not possible

1/ Vitamin D deficiency seems to be linked to severity of Covid19. Many people in UK are deficient, and especially if you’re dark skin as we don’t get enough ultraviolet B (UVB) from the sun in this country. Here’s what happens when you fix that👇🏾 https://www.bmj.com/content/356/bmj.i6583

2/ @mattwridley covers some indicative data on covid and vitamin D here 👇🏾

3/ paradoxically strict lockdown might worsen covid since if we stay indoors all day we miss the 10am-2pm window when 70% of UVB is delivered for vitamin D synthesis. Supplements are an option of course, as the NHS advises for winter months (charts from  https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/447402/Draft_SACN_Vitamin_D_and_Health_Report.pdf )

4/ All that said, don’t go out consume a whole load of vitamin D as you might risk toxic levels of it. Read this first  https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/articles/vitamin_d
