Releasing lockdown without public health infrastructure in place (test, trace, isolate & surveillance) makes lockdown pointless so far. Everyone agrees we need to get out of lockdown ASAP, focus needs to be on how time being used to replace lockdown with package of interventions.

Daily new cases will start to climb then again decision on whether to lockdown or let virus run through. Even assuming immunity can be built, early serological studies around world estimating only 10% through this so far. How much more death is permissible?

Clear lessons from several countries in East Asia & New Zealand  https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/04/eight-lessons-controlling-coronavirus-east-asian-nations-pandemic-public-health

Time is the currency that matters now. Clock started 31 Dec (when China notified WHO) for countries to race to prepare for virus to arrive. Clock started 23th March in UK to use precious lockdown time to race to build public health infrastructure. Urgency completely lost.
