Incompetent executives allow Product Review meetings to devolve into a show that their teams put together to stroke their ego & confirm their current beliefs.
Of course, almost no executive does this intentionally. And the team or the PM might be at fault as well.
But the executive needs to own it regardless of the reasons.
An important principle to remember after one reaches senior levels of an org:
Reasons are just reasons, they cannot be excuses.
