I have this really surreal memory of coming into Kaltag checkpoint during the Iditarod, putting out straw beds for the dogs, and @iditarob was like “I was sorry to hear that your Iditarider’s hand was cut off” and I was like, what, that’s not true, @thegirlpurls is fine!
And he was like, no no, the composer. It was in the newspaper.
And I was like, WHAT? Is @yotamhaber ok??? And all the dogs looked up.
And Rob, seeing my panic and backpedaling, was like, um, don’t worry! I think it must have been in The Onion.
(it was the music section of the @washingtonpost) https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/music/a-pianistcomposers-dream-of-dogsledding-in-alaska-came-true-it-ended-with-a-severed-finger/2019/03/11/cee9da86-4376-11e9-8aab-95b8d80a1e4f_story.html?noredirect=on …
