Yesterday’s events have not stopped the protests in New York City. Here at Grand Army Plaza, a big crowd, lots of families, are calling for cops to be prosecuted and chanting, “I can’t breathe.”

A steady stream of motorists are honking in support.

A particularly vocal contingent of Brooklyn protesters.

Big crowd moving into Crown Heights now, stretches back further than I can see, filling the street.

Tons of community members coming out of their apartments and businesses to cheer and show support as the march winds through Brooklyn, volunteers handing out water and hand sanitizer, people banging on pans.

Huge contingent of protesters approaching the Brooklyn Bridge. After some talk, they’ve decided to go forward.

Correction: Manhattan Bridge, not Brooklyn.

The NYPD seems to be letting people cross the bridge but the vibe in lower Manhattan feels considerably sketchier.

There’s a line of police at the intersection of Canal and Church that’s at least eight cops deep. On the other side of this is a tangle of protesters, kneeling in a moment of silence.

“Covid is not the only killer.”
