instead of wasting time trying to form elaborate mental castles ... learn about reality by getting greedy with your instrumentation.

TDD is probably the most successful software movement of my lifetime, but people place way, way, way too much faith in those bajillion tests of theirs.
(you can tell a lot about a SWE by how much responsibility they feel *after* tests run cleanly.)
people have put so much energy into chasing the dream of bringing prod data, prod use cases, prod edge cases into test environments,
but what you really want is to bring test in to production. because only prod is prod. <3
